Central
Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Limited is a subsidiary of The Nigerian Stock
Exchange (NSE) as well as the clearing house of the Nigerian stock Market. It
was incorporated on July 29, 1992 and commenced operations on April 14, 1997.
Over the past eight years, CSCS Limited has been able to make great impact in
the Nigerian Stock Market in the under listed areas with no down time:

Central
depository for all share certificates of quoted securities including new issues
on The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Sub
registry for all quoted securities in conjunction with registrars of quoted
companies.

Clearing
and settlement of Nigerian Stock Market transactions.

Safe
Keeping and custodian services.
Due
to its tremendous success in servicing the stock market, CSCS Limited decided
to set a new pace for information storage by launching its Digital Data Storage
and Retrieval System. This kicked off with the signing of agreement on the
project by its representatives and those of IBM, CISCO system, Sunnet System,
Datacom Services Ltd, Power System Ltd and Sitech Nigeria Ltd on January 19,
2004. The Agreement was for the deployment of digital data storage and
retrieval solution at the CSCS Ltd.
The
proposed solution revolves around content management and data warehousing,
otherwise called Enterprise Content Management Solution. The Technology was to
be deployed to capture, store and deliver both structured and unstructured
data. The new solution is being provided to solve information and record
management crisis in Nigeria.
